Sour Peach Hearts Kuchen

- 375 grams of flour
- 150 grams of sugar
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 225 grams of cubed cold butter (if only salted butter is available, omit the pinch of salt from the ingredients)
- Two large cans of sliced peaches
- One teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- The topping requires;
- 400 grams of sour cream
- Four egg yolks
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Three tablespoons caster sugar
- Sour peach heart lollies and cream for decoration
Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and a quarter of your sugar. Add the cubes of butter and use a knife to cut the mixture until you form coarse crumbs. Press your crumbs into the bottom and sides of a 30 centimetre baking dish.
Arrange your peach slices over your prepared crust to cover it completely. Combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle this over the top of the peaches. Bake this for fifteen minutes at 180ºc.
While your kuchen is baking, you should prepare the topping. Beat the sour cream together with the egg yolks. Spread this mixture over the top of the peaches and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon and sugar. Bake for a further thirty minutes or until the topping has set. Your kuchen can be served immediately or decorated.
